Fuel Stabilizer

Having a vehicle that isn’t used for daily driving such as a classic, performance, convertible or touring vehicle can throw up a different set of maintenance related issues compared with vehicles that are on the road every day.

One issue that can occur with vehicles that remain unused for an extended period of time is the oxidation of petrol.

When petrol oxidises, it releases contaminants and can lead to the formation of insoluble deposits within the fuel. These deposits can cause clogging in the fuel system as well as inefficient combustion within the cylinders.

Over time, this gumming can build up in injectors or carburetors which will lead to a drop in performance from the engine.

Will a fuel additive help?

MOTUL Stabilizer is a fuel additive that has been formulated to prevent fuel oxidation when a vehicle is left to sit if not used daily.

If the vehicle has been stored or off the road for a period of time, clogging or oxidation can make it harder for the engine to turn over when the time comes to start it back up again. Adding Stabilizer to the fuel tank when the vehicle goes into storage will make it easier for the engine to draw fuel, turn over and run efficiently when the time comes.
