Valve lifters or tappets have a basic function within the engine but play a crucial role. Sitting on top of the camshaft, the lifters follow the motion of the cam to open and close the valve.

They are under extreme pressure and can face as much as 200,000 to 300,000 PSI. Due to this constant pressure and contact, valve lifters need to be lubricated and maintained well.

Over time, valve lifters can develop a ‘tick’ or tapping noise due to poor lubrication of the valve lifters and engine timing system.

MOTUL Valve Lifter Stop Noise has been formulated as an engine oil additive to lubricate hydraulic valve lifters to eliminate the tick.

Alongside stopping the ticking noise, Valve Lifter Stop Noise formulation increases the high-pressure properties as well as wear and tear protection from the engine oil. In turn, this reduces the wear on the timing system of the engine and increases the lifespan.

Valve Lifter Stop Noise is compatible with all naturally aspirated or turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with or without catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters that are fitted with hydraulic lifters.

The 300ml bottle treats 5L of engine oil in the sump (60ml per litre for larger sump capacities) in mineral or synthetic engine oils.
